Although they all seem true to a point, they are nothing but headaches and if taken seriously they can partially affect your preparation.               
Therefore, it is essential to have the correct information about the exam process before you start preparing for the PMP Certification exam.   • Myth No 1. You must score above 60% to pass the exam

The first myth on the list is that “candidates need to score above 60% in the exam to pass.” well, if you dig further you may find that before 2005, it was true and the actual passing score was 61%. After November 30, 2005, PMI stopped publishing the passing score. Rather than that, they adopted a different strategy. Now they follow the psychometric analysis to calculate the passing criteria. Hence, the myth is not true anymore.
Talking about the psychometric, it means harder questions worth more than the easier one. So, you will score higher if you go for the harder questions. As only PMI knows the passing score I suggest you prepare to score at least 80% in the exam.
  • Myth No 2. You will get a higher salary with the PMP certification

Yes, we agree on the fact that PMP Certification Training Course can help you to excel in your career and your peers will start seeing you as a model, but there is no guarantee that it will raise your income standard.
Although PMP can certainly help you to land at a better job with a higher salary and earn respect within the organization, there is still no guarantee that it will increase your salary. In another survey, it was found that the average salary of PMP professionals has increased in the past few years. However, it still doesn’t guarantee an increased salary. So, this myth is not true.
  • Myth No 3. PMI perform an audit on applicant profile

There are many myths around the PMI audit process. Many believe that PMI selects some special profile for the audit process but it is not true.
If you believe in the PMI, the audit is completely random. There are 50-50 chances of you may or not be selected for the audit process. Therefore, you should be fully prepared to face the audit process as there are chances you would be selected for the auditing.
  • Myth No 4. You need 35 PDUs to apply for the PMP exam

Students who are preparing for the PMP certification, often confuse the contact hour with the PDUs. If you are one of those who also mix up the contact hours with PDUs then, understand that, to become eligible for the PMP certification exam you must have 35 contact hours, not PDUs. The only time you will need PDUs is when you apply to keep your PMP certification status active. Before becoming a PMP professional, you don’t have to worry about that.
